Scientifica Venture Capital is a Rome-based Italian deep-tech venture investor founded in 2021 that describes itself as an Operational VC, combining capital with proprietary infrastructure: a 4,000 sqm laboratory and prototyping hub plus a network of about 70 certified Lab Approved facilities across Italy, offered to founders under a Zero CapEx model. It operates as an investment holding, Scientifica S.p.A., with registered capital of EUR 10,610,000, and backs university spin-offs and research-driven start-ups from proof of concept and pre-seed through to scale-up across five verticals: Future Computing (AI and quantum), BioTech and HealthTech, ClimateTech and Environmental Innovation, Advanced Materials, and IndustrialTech and Human Augmentation. The firm invests through four named vehicles: Scientifica Fund 1, an Article 9 SFDR fund launched in October 2025 with a EUR 200 million announced size and a term to October 2035; Quantum Italia, launched in March 2023 as the first Italian vehicle dedicated exclusively to quantum technologies and since joined by French quantum specialist Quantonation; SophIA, the national technology transfer pole for artificial intelligence and cybersecurity created in 2026 by CDP Venture Capital in partnership with Scientifica; and Venture Tech Lazio, a regional acceleration and investment programme. Scientifica runs the Super Sapiens Europe call4ideas and the AdVenture academy programme as proprietary deal-sourcing channels, and co-invests regularly with Innova Venture of the Lazio Region, CDP Venture Capital hubs such as RoboIT, Galaxia and Terra Next, and LIFTT. Beyond its Rome EUR headquarters, Scientifica keeps a second Rome office at the Tiburtino technology park, the laboratory hub at the Tecnopolo d'Abruzzo in L'Aquila, and offices in London and San Francisco. Maurizio Scanavino joined as Chairman in April 2026, alongside Managing Partner and founder Riccardo D'Alessandri and General Partners Patrick Leoni Sceti and Elio Leoni Sceti.
