Editorial mission

GP Intel publishes verified intelligence on European private equity, accessible to every market participant. Every fund vintage, portfolio company, and exit on the platform is traced back to publicly available material before publication. We do not accept self-reported data, paid placements, or editorial direction from the firms we cover.

The aim is simple. Make fundamental PE intelligence cheap enough that an analyst, an advisor, or a student works from the same data as a Preqin desk. The methodology described below exists to make that promise verifiable rather than rhetorical.

How we verify

Every data point on a GP profile is cross-checked against at least two independent public sources before publication. The verification pipeline runs in five steps: collection from official corporate registries and primary regulatory disclosures, name and identifier matching, multi-source validation of key figures (AUM, vintage, fund size), enrichment with strategy and sector classifications, and manual review of any flagged discrepancies.

See the methodology page for the full pipeline. Discrepancies between sources are not resolved by averaging or guessing · they are flagged and resolved manually before any value is published. When a primary source contradicts a secondary one, the primary source wins.

Corrections policy

Errors can be reported by email to contact@gp-intel.com with the page URL and a brief description. We aim to acknowledge correction requests within two business days. Confirmed errors are corrected within five business days. Material corrections (name change, fund vintage shift, AUM revision over 10%, exit reclassification) are noted on the affected profile with the correction date.

Routine refreshes (new portfolio additions, exit dates, team updates) are not corrections in the editorial sense · they are part of the weekly maintenance cadence described in Update cadence.

Source policy

GP Intel relies exclusively on publicly available sources, but we do not enumerate them per data point. Source categories are documented at the platform level: official corporate registries across European jurisdictions, public fund disclosures, regulatory filings, official GP communications, and industry publications. The aggregation and verification of these sources is the value GP Intel provides; itemizing them per profile would commoditize the research without serving the reader.

This approach mirrors how financial wire services, rating agencies, and trade publications operate · they describe their methodology and accept editorial accountability for it, without publishing their per-story bibliographies. If a specific data point is contested, the corrections process above resolves it against the underlying sources.

Bylines policy

Content on GP Intel is attributed to the organization, not to individual authors. Data verification is collective work involving researchers, engineers, and the corrections feedback loop. A single byline would misrepresent that input. Articles, profiles, and methodology updates carry the "GP Intel Research" byline, and editorial accountability sits with GP Intel as an organization.

This is the same convention used by The Economist, the AP newsroom for routine wire copy, and most data-led publishers · institutional credibility through the organization rather than personal credibility through named contributors.

How to flag issues

Reach the editorial team at contact@gp-intel.com for corrections, omissions, methodology questions, or data concerns. We read every email. Responses are prioritized in this order: factual data errors first, omissions or coverage gaps second, presentation or interface concerns third.

Concerns about how a specific GP or company is presented are welcome. We will not, however, remove accurate public information at the request of a covered firm. Editorial discretion stays with GP Intel.

Ownership and independence

GP Intel is an independent platform, owned by its founders. It is not owned by, funded by, or commercially affiliated with any private equity firm, limited partner, financial institution, consulting firm, or competing data provider. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored profiles, or any commercial arrangement that would influence what appears on a GP or company profile.

Revenue comes exclusively from Pro subscribers (€49 per month) and yearly Pro plans (€490 per year). The data shown is identical for every visitor, signed in or not, paying or free. Pro unlocks workflow tools (advanced filters, exports, comparisons, exit data depth), not editorial favoritism.

Update cadence

Profiles are refreshed weekly. Regulatory filings are monitored daily and processed within 24 to 48 hours. Major events such as fundraising announcements, exits, and team changes are typically reflected within one business week. Each public profile shows its last verified timestamp at the bottom of the page (machine-readable through the Schema.org WebPage.dateModified property for AI search engines).

Historical data and profile enrichment (founding year, employee count, sector classification refinement) are updated on a rolling basis as part of the continuous verification work described above.
