AEM Unternehmerkapital (formerly Active Equity Management GmbH, registered 2002 and renamed in 2014) is a Munich family-capital investor that buys majority stakes in DACH mid-market companies in succession and carve-out situations. It invests the private capital of three entrepreneur families plus its own partners on an evergreen basis with no fund or holding-period limits, deploying operating managers into portfolio companies. AEM has completed more than 10 transactions, employs over 800 people across its group, and holds more than EUR 100 million of equity for future deals, targeting businesses with EUR 3-10 million EBIT and EUR 10-60 million revenue.
