Aquila Capital is a Hamburg-based alternative investment manager and BaFin-licensed AIFM founded in 2001 by Roman Rosslenbroich and Dieter Rentsch, focused since 2007 on clean energy and sustainable infrastructure across Europe. It sources, builds and manages direct portfolios of wind, solar, hydropower, battery storage, data centres and green logistics assets on behalf of institutional clients, with fee-bearing assets under management of roughly EUR 6.5 billion and a renewables platform exceeding 14 GW. Commerzbank acquired a 74.9 percent majority stake in Aquila Capital Investmentgesellschaft, with the transaction closing in June 2024.
