VAM Investments is a Milan and London based mid-market private equity firm founded in 2011 by Marco Piana, initially alongside former Bulgari chief executive Francesco Trapani. It invests capital from an international network of family offices and institutional investors, deploying it deal-by-deal through club-deal vehicles it calls the VAM Investments Club. VAM specialises in buyout and buy-and-build aggregation of Italian mid-market companies in consumer, luxury, business services, healthcare, industrials and energy, typically taking majority stakes with hands-on governance. Notable projects include founding the Gruppo Florence luxury fashion-manufacturing platform, later sold to Permira, and building roll-ups such as Everest, Etjca, Gym Nation Italia and the Swiss watchmaking platform Groupe Chaumont.
