Sofiouest
Sofiouest is the in-house investment company of Groupe SIPA Ouest-France, France's largest regional newspaper group, headquartered in Rennes. Originally founded in 1954 as the publishing arm of the Ouest-France daily, Sofiouest pivoted in 2016 into a diversified investment holding after the divestment of its Spir Communication free-press unit. Owned roughly 51 percent by SIPA Ouest-France, 11 percent by Credit Mutuel Arkea, and the balance by historic founding families, the company invests its own balance-sheet equity rather than third-party LP capital, operating without an AMF portfolio-management licence. Following a 2023 restructure, Sofiouest splits activities between a Private Equity arm (venture, growth, LBO minority tickets) and a Real Estate arm. Assets under management stand near EUR 140M with a stated objective to double in size. Sectors of focus include enterprise software, marketing technology, edtech, mobility, food-waste, deeptech medical, and Brittany-based industrial SMEs. Notable past investments include Klaxoon (2025 Wrike Trade Sale), Lengow (2021 Marlin Equity Partners Buyout), Sellsy (2022 PSG Equity Secondary), Recif Technologies (2024 Accuron Technologies Trade Sale), Andjaro (2023 Silae Trade Sale), Wandercraft, Phenix, Yespark, Posos, Locala, and CleverConnect.
