Hitachi Ventures
Hitachi Ventures is the global corporate venture capital arm of Japan's Hitachi group, operationally headquartered in Munich with offices in Palo Alto, Boston and Bengaluru. Founded in June 2019 with Hitachi as sole limited partner, it invests primarily at Series A/B (average initial checks around 5 million USD, reserving roughly 55 percent for follow-ons) across four themes: HV Digital (AI and advanced computing), HV Industrial (Industry 4.0), HV Environment (decarbonization and circular economy) and HV Healthcare (techbio). By 2025 it managed four funds totalling about 1 billion USD in assets and a portfolio of over 50 startups, several of which reached unicorn status.
