Acathia Capital
Acathia Capital is a Frankfurt-based private equity firm founded in 2013 that value-invests in fully regulated European insurers, banks and financial services companies. Operating on a deal-by-deal basis with no blind-pool fund, it manages over EUR 350 million of equity in dedicated investment vehicles on behalf of German insurers, global reinsurers and pension funds. Its flagship asset is Futur, the Swedish market-leading savings and pension platform, acquired from Danske Bank in 2019 and scaled through two subsequent GP-led secondaries. The Acathia team, led by Managing Partner Dr. Thomas Schmitt, has closed more than 20 financial services transactions and specialises in life insurance run-off consolidation and platform build-ups.
