BWK is a Stuttgart-based evergreen Mittelstand investment company founded in 1990, backed by LBBW (40 percent), Wuestenrot and Wuerttembergische (35 percent), the Hertie foundation (15 percent) and L-Bank (10 percent). It holds long-term minority and majority stakes in German-speaking mid-market companies from a permanent balance sheet of roughly EUR 300 million, with around EUR 150 million invested across about 18 holdings and more than 70 investments made since inception.
