Fidelium Partners, operating as Fidelium GmbH, is a Munich-based private equity firm founded in 2017, registered with BaFin as an external capital management company under the German Capital Investment Code. It manages two equity funds with combined assets under management of €253 million as of December 2024, backed by German entrepreneurial families with significant team co-investment. Fund II holds €150 million of long-term capital available for new acquisitions, follow-ons and add-ons. The group is entirely Germany-based. The structure is an independent BaFin-registered manager running two closed-end special-situations funds.
Fidelium is a control-oriented special-situations and operational private equity investor. It targets European companies in transition, including corporate carve-outs, operationally challenged but fundamentally viable businesses, succession situations and management buy-outs and buy-ins, typically taking majority ownership. Sector exposure skews toward industrials, automotive components and manufacturing. The limited partner base is German business families providing patient long-term capital, which lets Fidelium avoid loading portfolio companies with acquisition debt. Value creation is operational and hands-on: separating carve-outs into standalone businesses, restructuring operations, optimising sales and financing, and pursuing buy-and-build, rather than relying on financial leverage or multiple arbitrage.
Recent and current portfolio investments span automotive and industrial carve-outs and succession deals, including Vossloh-Schwabe, a lighting-components carve-out in industrials (2020), ALUNITED in automotive aluminium parts, J.W. Ostendorf in paints and coatings, Muhlhoff Umformtechnik in automotive formed components, and Wolfensberger in industrial cast products. The platform continues to deploy across European special-situations, carve-out and succession transactions in industrials, automotive components and manufacturing.
