Signature Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm focused on blockchain and deep tech, founded in 2019 and based near Munich in Bavaria, Germany. It is an independent German-domiciled venture capital manager led by founding partner Juliane Hahn. The firm runs two distinct vehicles: Signature Ventures I, a direct early-stage fund of approximately €25 to €30 million, and Fund II, a fund-of-funds strategy that backs emerging early-stage deep-tech managers and involves more than 20 limited partners. Aggregate assets under management are in the low tens of millions of euros.

Investment thesis

Signature Ventures backs the next wave of deep-tech innovation, concentrating on blockchain, distributed ledger technology and Web3. Fund I invests directly in founders at pre-seed to Series A, with cheque sizes of roughly USD 500,000 to USD 1 million, while Fund II deploys a fund-of-funds approach into emerging deep-tech fund managers. Geography centres on Europe with selective global reach. The limited partner base spans more than 20 investors across the two vehicles. Value creation rests on combining hands-on early-stage venture capital experience with deep blockchain and Web3 technical expertise and an ecosystem network of founders and emerging managers.

Recent activity

Recent direct investments span Web3 and blockchain infrastructure and decentralised-technology companies across 2024 to 2026, with portfolio holdings covering crypto infrastructure, decentralised science and digital-identity companies. Realised exits are limited given the firm's youth, with the portfolio predominantly held across both the direct fund and the fund-of-funds vehicle.
