About Epiris

Epiris is a UK upper-mid-market private equity firm with approximately £2.5 billion of assets under management as of December 2024 (Fund III closed February 2024 at a £1.044 billion hard cap, plus Fund II and continuation and co-invest vehicles), headquartered in London. The firm traces its origin to 1976 as Electra Partners (the private equity arm of Electra Investment Trust) before rebranding as Epiris in 2017 after becoming fully independent and ceasing to manage Electra Private Equity capital. Epiris operates as an independent partner-owned LLP.

Investment thesis

Epiris deploys capital through approximately three flagship funds (Epiris Fund I, II, III) plus continuation vehicles, targeting upper-mid-market control buyouts of UK-headquartered businesses with enterprise value of £75-500 million and £40-150 million equity per deal. The strategy targets situations with complexity such as carve-outs, broken processes and bank disposals, where complexity creates an entry-price advantage. Sector focus spans business services, consumer, media and information services, financial services, industrials and leisure and hospitality. Geographic deployment is UK-headquartered businesses with international expansion of portfolio companies.

Recent activity

Recent realised exits include information services (2025), auction house and luxury (2025) and consumer and funeral services structured minority (2024). Recent acquisitions include automotive aftermarket parts (2024), leisure and pubs (2024) and prepaid funeral plans (recent Fund III deal). The platform continues active deployment of Fund III across the UK upper-mid-market complexity mandate. Detailed buyer names and multiple data available on Pro at €29/month.
