About Synova

Synova is a UK growth-capital private equity firm with approximately £1.7 billion of capital managed on behalf of institutional investors and family offices as of December 2024, headquartered in London. The firm was founded in 2007 and operates as a partner-owned independent PE firm. Synova was named Europe's top-performing PE fund manager by Preqin in 2024 and won Private Equity House of the Year at the British PE Awards in 2020, 2022 and 2025.

Investment thesis

Synova deploys capital through five flagship funds (Synova I through Synova V), with Fund V (£875 million 2022 vintage) including the dedicated £250 million Chrysalis pool for smaller growth companies. Investment strategy targets growth-capital buyouts of European companies valued £20 million to £250 million across three interrelated core sectors: software and data, tech-enabled services and financial services. Geographic deployment is UK-core with selective continental European exposure.

Recent activity

Recent realised exits include enterprise software (October 2024), InsurTech and financial services (2024) and insurance distribution and financial services (October 2025). Recent acquisitions include Klearcom (voice and software, November 2025) and the JMG Group reinvestment (financial services, October 2025). The platform continues active deployment of Fund V.
