Sophora Unternehmerkapital, operating under the brand SOPHORA, is an independent owner-led German Mittelstand private equity firm founded in 2022 and headquartered in Munich, Germany. It is run by an interdisciplinary team of around eight professionals with both private equity and operating-founder backgrounds. Investment thesis

Its thesis is built on long-term megatrends across three pillars: energy transition and resource availability, breakthrough enabling scalable and transformative technologies, and buy-and-build. Sector focus spans renewable energy, the circular economy, future mobility, cybersecurity, AI, advanced materials, agritech and robotics. Limited partners are entrepreneurs, family offices and individuals from the corporate-finance community. Recent activity

Recent investments include a software and construction-technology company (2023), an agritech and animal-care company (2023) and an industrial flow-measurement technology company (2024). No exits have been completed, with the firm retaining a minority stake in its agritech holding following a subsequent growth round in 2024.
