Orange Digital Investment
Orange Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of French telecom group Orange SA, with a EUR 350M total allocation to invest in technology and digital companies aligned with Orange's strategic priorities. Founded in December 2015 as Orange Digital Ventures and rebranded Orange Ventures in 2020 with a broader scope, the firm is wholly owned by Orange, invests from the group's balance sheet and is not AMF-regulated. It runs four sub-strategies: Orange Ventures Growth (2024 vintage, Series B and later tickets in European tech), Orange Ventures Impact (2023 vintage, early-stage purpose-driven sustainability and inclusion), the Orange Ventures MEA Seed Fund (2020 vintage, seed-stage Middle East and Africa startups) and the legacy Orange Digital Ventures Africa strategy (2017 vintage). Headquartered in Issy-les-Moulineaux with a Dakar office for Africa coverage, it has been led by President Mathieu de la Rochefoucauld since June 2025, with Jerome Berger as Chair. The firm has backed approximately 47 portfolio companies across France, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with confirmed exits including Actility (trade sale to Sweden's Netmore Group, January 2026), Brut (trade sale to an undisclosed strategic media buyer, September 2025) and Traace (trade sale, buyer undisclosed, May 2024). Notable holdings include Dataiku and Monzo (both 2017 entries), Famoco (payment terminals), Morphisec (cybersecurity), Airalo (eSIM, 2023 Series B), Ringover (cloud telephony), Supervizor (audit software, EUR 20M round led in 2024) and Moments Lab (AI video indexing, 2025). The Africa portfolio spans Kenya, Egypt, South Africa, Ethiopia and Senegal with companies such as Africa's Talking, Yoco, Gebeya, Trella, ShipBlu, 7Keema and Afrikamart. The strategy targets fintech, digital health, connectivity, AI, cybersecurity, climate tech and B2B SaaS with check sizes from EUR 0.5M at seed to EUR 10M in growth equity.
