ATON GmbH is the Munich-based evergreen industrial holding of the Helmig family, founded in 2001 by Dr. Lutz M. Helmig after the sale of Helios Kliniken. It takes long-term majority stakes in market-leading B2B companies across engineering, mining services, medical technology, aviation and digital infrastructure, funding acquisitions off its own balance sheet with an equity ratio of around 50 percent. The group generated roughly EUR 2.2 billion of operating performance in 2023 and employed about 15,600 people worldwide.
