APX is a Berlin-based earliest-stage (pre-seed) venture investor set up in 2018 as a joint venture between media group Axel Springer SE and sports-car maker Porsche AG, succeeding the Axel Springer Plug and Play accelerator. It typically invested up to EUR 500k per company (starting with a EUR 50k first cheque plus a 100-day tailor-made programme) and backed more than 100 digital-business founding teams across Europe, often as their first institutional investor. Porsche and Axel Springer topped up the vehicle to EUR 55M committed in January 2021. From May 2023 all new initial investments moved to APX's successor firm Heartfelt, while APX continues to support and follow-on into its existing portfolio.
