About Apax Partners

Apax Partners is one of the oldest international private equity firms with approximately $77-80 billion of aggregate capital raised across its history, headquartered in London with offices in New York, Munich, Tel Aviv, Mumbai, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi. The firm was founded in 1981 and has developed its sector-led investment approach across more than four decades of buyout, growth and digital investing. Apax remains a partner-owned private partnership. The most recent flagship buyout vehicle, Apax XI, closed in 2024 at its $12 billion hard cap, with continued deployment across the platform's other active strategies.

Investment thesis

Apax deploys capital through approximately 12 to 15 active vehicles spanning global buyout (Apax X and Apax XI), digital growth, global impact, mid-market Israel and credit strategies, with sector specialisation across technology, services, internet and consumer and healthcare. The firm's value-creation model combines sector-led origination with an in-house Operational Excellence Practice and the KnowledgeNow Network connecting portfolio executives globally. Capital is deployed into majority and significant minority stakes in profitable European, North American, Asian and selectively emerging-market companies, with average equity tickets calibrated to the upper end of the European and global buyout market.

Recent activity

Recent realised exits include realisations across technology and AI services (2026), analytics and technology (2026) and professional services across 2025. Recent acquisitions include Yad2 (internet and consumer classifieds, 2025) and the Evelyn Partners professional services arm (services, 2025). Apax continues to deploy capital across its current Apax XI vintage while expanding the digital growth and mid-market Israel strategies. Detailed buyer names and multiple data available on Pro at €29/month.
