About WF World Fund Management

WF World Fund Management GmbH, operating under the brand World Fund, is a European climate-tech venture capital firm founded in 2021 by Daria Saharova, Tim Schumacher, Danijel Visevic and Craig Douglas. It is headquartered in Berlin, Germany, with additional offices in Munich, Cologne and Amsterdam. In March 2024 it closed its debut vehicle, World Fund I, at €300 million, the largest first-time fund in European climate venture capital history, which constitutes essentially the firm's full assets under management as of December 2024. The firm operates one institutional fund vehicle to date, structured as a closed-end venture fund designed to make 25 to 30 substantial investments.

Investment thesis

World Fund invests exclusively in decarbonisation technologies, backing early- to growth-stage European startups whose technology can save at least 100 megatons of CO2-equivalent emissions per year. Sector focus spans energy, food and agriculture, manufacturing, materials, mobility and computing. Geography is Europe. The firm reserves more than two-thirds of fund capital for follow-on investments to bridge Europe's later-stage funding gap. Its limited partner base is institutional, anchored by the European Investment Fund alongside KfW Capital, the German Wachstumsfonds, BPI France, NRW.BANK and several pension funds and corporates. The value-creation lever is a proprietary science-based Climate Performance Potential methodology, built with TU Berlin and climate-research partners, that quantifies and steers each investment's emissions impact.

Recent activity

Recent investments include Cylib in battery recycling and circular materials, IQM in quantum computing, Planet A Foods in sustainable food, Space Forge in in-space manufacturing and materials, and Barocal and Lithosquare in climate hardware. No exits have been recorded, as World Fund I is a 2024-vintage debut fund with no realisations on record. The platform continues to deploy across European decarbonisation technologies in energy, food and agriculture, manufacturing, materials, mobility and computing.
