About LGT Private Debt

LGT Private Debt is the European direct-lending platform of LGT Capital Partners with more than €6.4 billion invested across 130 plus arranged mid-market debt transactions over 19 years as of December 2024, headquartered in London. The team has operated in European private debt since 2005 (formerly the Crown / European Capital direct-lending franchise) and arranged Europe's first unitranche transaction in 2007. LGT Private Debt operates as a platform of LGT Capital Partners, ultimately owned by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein.

Investment thesis

LGT Private Debt deploys capital through approximately three plus flagship vehicles (Crown European Private Debt I-III, CEPD III closed at €1.2 billion in 2023, CEPD II at €1.35 billion) plus impact and solutions mandates, targeting direct lending to European sponsor-backed mid-market companies predominantly via senior secured first-lien plus unitranche, with Impact Private Credit and Private Credit Solutions sub-strategies. Sector deployment is sector-agnostic sponsor-led lending across defensive mid-market businesses, services, healthcare, industrials and consumer. Geographic deployment is pan-European focused on companies with enterprise values of €100-500 million.

Recent activity

As a direct-lending platform, the loan portfolio is self-liquidating via repayments rather than equity exits. Recent financings include new senior secured and unitranche financings to European mid-market sponsor-backed companies (2024-2025). The platform continues active deployment across the European mid-market direct-lending mandate. Detailed buyer names and multiple data available on Pro at €29/month.
