About Chalmers Ventures

Chalmers Ventures is one of the Nordics' most prolific university deep-tech venture builders, headquartered in Gothenburg. The current entity Chalmers Ventures AB was formed in 2015 with lineage tracing to Chalmers University of Technology's innovation and incubator activity from 1997. The firm operates as an affiliate and spin-out investor of Chalmers University of Technology, having backed approximately 195 companies across its lifetime with an evergreen returns-recycling model.

Investment thesis

Chalmers Ventures deploys capital through approximately two to three vehicles (including the Chalmers Innovation Seed Fund), targeting pre-seed and seed deep-tech venture creation and investment as a venture builder and investor under one roof, with active ownership to exit. Sector focus spans deep tech, quantum and hardware, life sciences, enterprise software, cleantech and energy and mining and industrial tech. Geographic deployment is Sweden (Gothenburg region) core plus Nordic, scaling portfolio companies internationally. The platform converts Chalmers research into companies.

Recent activity

Recent realised exits include quantum computing (2025), robo-advisory and fintech (2024), email security software (2024) and mining technology (2024). Recent acquisitions include approximately 4-5 new seed investments per year across deep tech (2024-2025). The platform continues active deployment across the Chalmers university deep-tech mandate.
