About Cubera Private Equity
Cubera Private Equity is a leading Nordic-focused private equity secondaries specialist with €4.5 billion of assets under management as of December 2024 (latest disclosures cite €5 billion), headquartered in Oslo at Haakon VIIs gate 2 with a secondary office in Stockholm. The firm was founded in 2006 and was acquired by Storebrand ASA (listed Norwegian financial group) in 2019, operating as a wholly-owned affiliate with 36 team members. Cubera X (Nordic secondaries) hard-closed at €807 million in August 2024.
Investment thesis
Cubera deploys capital through 10 plus active vintage funds across four programmes: Nordic Primary, Nordic Secondary, Cubera Impact and Cubera International. Investment focus combines multi-strategy Nordic private equity fund-of-funds with secondaries deployment across communications, networking, information technology, energy and software sectors via underlying buyout funds. Geographic deployment is anchored in the Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland) with the International strategy providing global exposure. The platform offers the deepest Nordic deal flow and GP relationships for secondaries combined with Storebrand-backed institutional ESG infrastructure.
Recent activity
As a fund-of-funds platform, secondaries purchases are core activity rather than exits at GP level. Recent acquisitions include seven Nordic secondary transactions committed via Cubera X in late 2024 plus €1 billion of inflows across all strategies in the trailing 12 months. The platform continues active deployment across the multi-strategy Nordic private markets franchise. Detailed buyer names and multiple data available on Pro at €29/month.
