About Bios Line

Bios Line is an Italian consumer-health company based in Ponte San Nicolo, near Padua, that develops, manufactures and distributes natural food supplements, phytotherapy products, medical devices and plant-based cosmetics under the umbrella tagline "nature that works". Founded in 1986, it sells through proprietary brands including Biosline, Natura's, Bioskap, CellPlus and Apix Propoli, spanning more than 30 product lines across digestive, cardiovascular, urinary, sleep, energy, skin and hair care, with a strong emphasis on formulations suitable for vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free consumers. Its products reach the market mainly through pharmacies, parapharmacies and herbalist shops across Italy. The business is run from a single site in the Veneto region, staffed by roughly 80 in-house employees alongside a network of around 70 external sales agents.

Ownership journey

Bios Line was founded in 1986 by Paolo Tramonti in the Padua area and remained founder-owned for more than three decades, with Tramonti serving as sole administrator. In October 2021, following a competitive auction that had opened in 2020, Palladio Holding acquired a minority stake in the company from founder Paolo Tramonti, entering as a permanent-capital partner to support domestic development and international expansion while the founder retained majority control. The transaction was framed as a strategic partnership rather than a change of control, with Palladio backing the existing management and entrepreneurial team. Palladio remains an active minority shareholder; no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.

Under PE ownership

At the time of Palladio's entry, Bios Line reported revenue of approximately EUR 35 million for 2020, up more than 10 percent on 2019 despite the pandemic, and it carried that momentum into 2021 with domestic sales rising about 12 percent and international sales about 14 percent by the third quarter. Since the investment the company has pursued the growth and internationalization agenda set out at the deal, expanding beyond its domestic base and preparing an entry into the French market. Revenue climbed to roughly EUR 48 million by 2024, and management publicly targeted surpassing EUR 50 million for 2025. Over the period the group has continued to build out its multi-brand portfolio across supplements and natural cosmetics while keeping its pharmacy and parapharmacy distribution model at the core.
