Growth Equity

Growth Equity · A PE strategy that invests in established companies seeking capital for expansion, typically taking minority or significant minority stakes. Growth equity sits between venture capital and buyout.

Example

A PE firm invests €30M for a 25% minority stake in a profitable software company growing at 40% per year. Unlike a buyout, the existing founders retain control · the capital funds expansion (sales hires, geographic launch) rather than ownership change.
