About Stimuli

Stimuli Technology is a French medical-device company based in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris, whose Tensi+ product is a non-invasive, drug-free wearable that treats overactive bladder through transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) of the posterior tibial nerve. Worn at the ankle for roughly twenty minutes a day, the device delivers gentle electrical impulses that modulate the nerve signals passing between bladder and brain, offering an alternative to long-term medication and more invasive procedures for both men and women. Tensi+ is a class IIa device that carries CE marking, is manufactured under ISO 13485 and MDSAP certification, and is reimbursed by France's national health insurance. The company positions the product in the urology and pelvic-health segment as a home-based, prescription treatment distributed through pharmacies, medical-supply outlets and online retailers. Stimuli is present in France and a number of other European markets, and management has reported the business reaching roughly EUR 1.3 million in revenue.

Ownership journey

Stimuli Technology was created in 2018 within Technofounders, a French deeptech startup studio, and developed Tensi+ in collaboration with urologists and patients, with Delphine Agullo taking over as chief executive in late 2021. In 2021 Nord Creation, a fund managed by the Hauts-de-France investor IRD Invest, backed the company as part of its healthcare investments for that year. Nord Creation remains an active shareholder and Stimuli is still carried in the fund's portfolio, and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.

Under PE ownership

The 2021 backing coincided with a shift from product development to commercial scale-up under new leadership, as Stimuli built out reimbursement, distribution and clinical evidence for Tensi+. Since then the company has secured French reimbursement, widened availability across several European countries, and reinforced the device with clinical publications, including a multi-center prospective post-marketing study published in 2024. Management has described reaching profitability and around EUR 1.3 million in revenue without raising large external amounts, while pursuing regulatory clearance to enter the United States. The TENS protocol behind Tensi+ shows clinically meaningful improvement in roughly two-thirds of users within three months of daily use, evidence the company leans on as it expands into new markets.
