About Motion Society
Motion Society, which trades as MoSo, is a Paris-based technology company for the creator economy whose platform automatically adapts, distributes and monetizes video content across social and streaming platforms including YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and connected-TV FAST and AVOD channels. Its proprietary pipeline handles the full workflow from video ingestion to cross-platform publishing, using an AI-assisted layer for reformatting, subtitle generation, titling and scheduling while human editors retain editorial control, a system the company says cuts operational time by roughly 70 to 80 percent. It positions itself around creators beyond the top tier, working with media brands and IP owners as well as individual talent. According to company and investor disclosures, MoSo works with hundreds of creators worldwide, roughly half of them US-based, together generating over one billion monthly views and processing tens of thousands of videos each month.
Ownership journey
Motion Society was founded in Paris in 2022 by Jean-Loup Fraudin and Thomas Subra, who met through careers in infrastructure and structured finance and in investment banking and private equity, after a creator friend with more than a million subscribers found his catalog could not easily reach other platforms. The founding team also included a co-chief operating officer drawn from the creator world and a chief product officer. In December 2023 the company closed a EUR 2 million seed round backed by OneRagtime, which invested through its FPCI Paragon vehicle, alongside additional investors and business angels. OneRagtime remains an active shareholder and Motion Society is still listed as a current portfolio company; no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.
Under PE ownership
The seed capital was aimed at scaling the platform and its creator network internationally, and since the investment MoSo has broadened well beyond its original base. Its roster has grown to more than 500 creators across markets in North America, Europe, Latin America and Australia, spanning around 25 nationalities, with headcount reaching roughly 40 to 50 people across offices in Paris and Barcelona. The company deepened its distribution reach by expanding a Spotify collaboration that migrated more than 100 creators to the platform, and it extended into connected-TV and streaming channels alongside the incumbent social networks. It also adopted MoSo, the shorthand creators had organically applied, as its operating brand.
