About HB Aesthetics
HB Aesthetics is a Vilafant, Spain based dermo-aesthetic company that develops and manufactures high-end professional skincare and mesotherapy products for dermatologists, clinics, aesthetic practitioners, beauty institutes and spas. It is vertically integrated, running in-house R&D, GMP and ISO 9001 certified manufacturing and dedicated training centers, and it sells through a portfolio of specialist brands including Fusion Meso, Ekseption and Acurhyal. Fusion Meso supplies sterile serums for microneedling, electroporation and other device-based protocols, while Ekseption covers professional peels and complementary at-home ranges built on organic acids. According to the company, its products reach more than 14,000 beauty centers across over 70 countries, with exports accounting for the large majority of sales and average annual growth of roughly 20 percent.
Ownership journey
HB Aesthetics was built by its founder Raphael Chauchard-Rios in Vilafant, at the heart of Spain's cosmetics manufacturing cluster, as an export-led specialist in professional dermocosmetics. In May 2023 Edmond de Rothschild Private Equity, through its Amethis platform, acquired a significant minority stake in a primary leveraged buyout alongside the founder, investing via Amethis Fund III and Amethis Europe Expansion. Siparex provided unitranche financing for the transaction through its Siparex Intermezzo 3 fund. The founder retained control of the business, and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded, leaving the 2023 backers in place.
Under PE ownership
The 2023 investment was framed as growth capital to widen the company's international footprint and to deepen its industrial base rather than to change control. Since the deal HB Aesthetics has advanced a new manufacturing site of about 4,500 square meters, roughly five times larger than its previous facility, expanding in-house production capacity. It has pushed international development toward the most active markets, targeting Asia, North America, the Middle East and Africa, building on an export base that already spans dozens of countries. In parallel it has accelerated sustainability initiatives, including packaging and plastic reduction, solar-powered manufacturing and an employee shareholding program, while continuing to report roughly 20 percent average annual growth across a network of more than 14,000 professional centers.
