About GHG

GHG (GHG Solutions) is a UK loss adjusting and claims management specialist that provides outsourced claims handling, loss adjusting, surveying and third-party administration services to the insurance sector, supporting insurers, brokers and their policyholders across property damage, liability and subsidence claims. Headquartered near Southampton in Hampshire, the company develops bespoke claims solutions for both domestic and commercial markets and runs a dedicated subsidence practice alongside its ProACT building repair and reinstatement network covering the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands. It is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. GHG positions itself as a technology-enabled, service-led adjuster competing among the UK's independent claims and loss adjusting firms, with a reputation for consistently strong scores in external client audits.

Ownership journey

GHG was founded in 1995 in Winchester, Hampshire, by Graham High, and over the following years built its position in the UK loss adjusting and claims management market. In July 2020 YFM Equity Partners backed a management buyout of the business, investing GBP 7 million of equity as part of a transaction valued at around GBP 17 million, with the deal led by managing director Austin Snelgrove working alongside the founder. The investment was the first drawn from YFM's GBP 80 million Buyout Fund II. YFM remains an active shareholder and GHG is still listed as a current portfolio company; no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.

Under PE ownership

The 2020 buyout capital was intended to support GHG's next phase of growth in the loss adjusting and claims market, both organically and through acquisition. In February 2023 the company acquired Jacksons Partnership, forming GHG Specialist Claims Services to complement its existing loss adjusting and third-party administration offering and broaden its specialist claims capability. Under the investment GHG has continued to develop its bespoke claims, subsidence and repair-network services for insurers and brokers across the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands. The business remains focused on helping clients manage complex claims, assess risk and improve outcomes for policyholders.
