About Fauché

Fauche is a French electrical engineering group that designs, installs, maintains and automates high and low voltage electrical systems for industrial, tertiary and infrastructure clients, with additional expertise in HVAC, industrial process automation, nuclear services, general contracting and smart building technology. It positions itself as the leading independent player in electrical engineering in France, serving customers such as La Poste and the Grenoble university hospital through a dense network of local agencies. By its own disclosures the group operates from more than 160 sites across France and employs over 3,700 people, with roughly 85 percent of its capital held by employees. Founded in 1963 and headquartered in the Montauban area of southwestern France, it has grown through a combination of organic expansion and bolt-on acquisitions into higher value maintenance and low voltage activities.

Ownership journey

Fauche was founded in 1963 in Lafrancaise, in southwestern France, and built into the independent leader in French electrical engineering. In 2017 Parquest Capital invested through its Parquest Capital 2 fund, taking a majority position alongside management and supporting a build-up into maintenance and low voltage services. Parquest exited in 2021 via a management buyout, when the company's leadership took back control of the group backed by EMZ Partners, investing through its EMZ 9 fund. EMZ 9 in turn exited in 2024 via a further management buyout, with EMZ Partners renewing its partnership through the EMZ 10 fund, which remains an active shareholder. Across both legs the transactions were structured as employee and management centric buyouts, widening the base of staff shareholders while keeping the majority of capital inside the group.

Under PE ownership

Under successive sponsor backing Fauche has roughly doubled and then grown further in scale, with revenue rising from around 175 million euros in 2017 to over 280 million euros by 2021 and about 400 million euros in 2023. Headcount expanded over the same period from roughly 1,710 people across 77 agencies at the 2021 buyout to more than 3,700 staff across over 160 sites. The 2021 operation allowed around 600 employees to take control of the group, and the 2024 transaction broadened the employee shareholder circle to more than 30 percent of staff while preserving majority internal ownership. Growth has been driven by organic development, targeted acquisitions and a deliberate shift toward maintenance and higher value low voltage work, alongside expansion into nuclear, eco-energy and digital building services.
