About Emball'infor
Emball'Infor is a French manufacturer of isothermal packaging for the temperature-controlled healthcare cold chain, headquartered in Glisy near Amiens in the Hauts-de-France region. It designs and produces qualified, certified transport solutions for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products, biological substances and diagnostic samples, and presents itself as the first company in France to have designed and manufactured isothermal packaging for the pharmaceutical industry, using monobloc-injected polyurethane foam for durable thermal performance. Its catalogue spans several ranges, including PolairPACK, PolairPAL, PolairKUB, PolairLOOP, PolairKITS and GelPACKS, with volumes from under one litre to roughly 700 litres and qualified temperature bands from minus 80 to plus 25 degrees Celsius, holding temperature for 24 to more than 168 hours depending on configuration. The company serves pharmaceutical, biotechnology, hospital, laboratory and logistics customers, and carries ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certification alongside NF S99-700, ISTA 7D and UN3373 and UN2814 approvals for regulated air and road transport of infectious and hazardous materials.
Ownership journey
Emball'Infor was founded in 1987 in Glisy, in the Somme, building an early specialism in isothermal packaging for the emerging pharmaceutical cold chain. In 2012 Sopromec Participations, an evergreen investor that backs French small and mid-sized companies from its own permanent balance sheet rather than a time-limited fund, took a stake in the business to support its development. Sopromec held the position through the following years before divesting, and Emball'Infor is now listed among the firm's completed exits. The company was exited via a trade sale, and the acquiring party is not named here.
Under PE ownership
Under Sopromec's ownership Emball'Infor deepened its position in the regulated healthcare cold chain rather than diversifying away from it. The business built out a structured product family across the principal pharmaceutical temperature bands, from deep-frozen minus 80 and minus 20 degrees through refrigerated 2 to 8 degrees to controlled ambient 15 to 25 degrees, covering air freight, surface transport and last-mile delivery. It invested in qualification and compliance, maintaining ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 systems and NF S99-700 and ISTA 7D validation, together with UN3373 and UN2814 approvals required for shipping category A and category B biological substances. These moves aligned the company with rising pharmaceutical and biotechnology demand for validated temperature-controlled logistics ahead of Sopromec's exit.
