About Brick Group

Brick Group is an Essen-based buy-and-build platform assembling a group of independently run specialist trades businesses focused on the energy-efficient renovation of residential and commercial buildings across Germany. It spans the renovation value chain, from the coordination and execution of large-scale renovation projects to technical building equipment such as heating, ventilation, plumbing and air conditioning. Its operating companies include the general contractor Bauunternehmung Tank und Becker and Tank und Becker Gebaeudetechnik, active in the Hamburg and Berlin regions, and the Lodewick group in Lower Saxony. The platform today employs more than 200 people and positions itself as a nationwide one-stop-shop provider for energy renovation, offering succession with perspective to owner-managed craft firms.

Ownership journey

Brick Group was founded in 2023 by Capmont together with the managers Dirk Hollands and Michael Weinand, with the stated aim of building a market leader in German energy renovation through a buy-and-build strategy. Capmont, the Munich-based private equity firm, backs the group as its equity sponsor, and Brick Group is a current portfolio company. In January 2024 the platform completed its first investment, acquiring the renovation services contractor Tank und Becker, founded roughly two decades earlier by Ronald Tank and Roger Becker in the Hamburg and Berlin regions. In 2026 the group added the Lodewick group, a technical building equipment specialist based in Lower Saxony. Capmont remains an active shareholder, and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.

Under PE ownership

Since Capmont established the platform in 2023, Brick Group has pursued a sequence of add-on acquisitions to broaden its coverage of the building renovation value chain. The January 2024 acquisition of Tank und Becker provided the founding platform for coordinating and executing large-scale renovation projects across residential and commercial property portfolios. In May 2026 the group acquired the Lodewick group, a technical building equipment specialist founded in 1952 and employing around 80 people, adding the heating, ventilation and plumbing backbone needed to scale toward a one-stop-shop offering. Headcount across the platform has grown to more than 200 employees, while the operating companies retain their names, management and local structures under the group umbrella.
