About Archeon Medical

Archeon Medical is a Besancon-based medtech company that develops ventilation feedback devices for emergency resuscitation, built around the principle that there is no high-performance cardiopulmonary resuscitation without high-performance ventilation. Its flagship products, EOlife and EOlife X, attach to standard bag valve masks and use artificial intelligence to measure ventilation parameters in real time, estimate the volume of air reaching a patient's lungs, and give caregivers live feedback to correct manual ventilation during CPR. The company positions the technology as a patented system for calculating precise air delivery, and it markets EOlife across more than 15 countries spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and North America. It remains a small, specialised operator, reporting on the order of two dozen employees, and competes in the pre-hospital and emergency-care segment of the medical device market.

Ownership journey

Archeon was founded in Besancon in 2018 by Alban De Luca and Pierre-Edouard Saillard, who acquired the underlying research and patents to commercialise an intelligent ventilation device for resuscitation. In March 2022 the company closed a EUR 5.5 million Series A round intended to make it a global leader in smart ventilation, and UI Investissement backed the business as part of that financing, with its investment dated to early 2022. UI Investissement is one of several institutional investors in the company rather than a controlling owner, and it is recorded as an active, current backer. No exit or secondary transaction has been recorded for its stake. In June 2024 Archeon closed a further multi-million-euro round to accelerate international expansion.

Under PE ownership

The 2022 Series A capital was earmarked for scaling EOlife commercially and pursuing international growth, and since the investment Archeon has widened both its product line and its geographic reach. It extended the range from EOlife to EOlife X, and it built out distribution, including a collaboration with Ambu to distribute its ventilation feedback devices and the opening of a United States subsidiary to enter the North American market. The company has grown its footprint to more than 15 countries and, per its own disclosures, cites clinical benefits such as materially improved ventilation quality and higher survival rates with better neurological recovery. The follow-on financing closed in June 2024 was directed at continuing this international expansion and bringing the EOlife technology to new markets.
