About AGILINK

Agilink Group is a France-based industrial manufacturer that designs, produces and markets interconnection systems and products built on wires, cables and cords for power and data transmission. Its range spans optical cables, cabling and coaxial wires, harnesses, cord and cable sub-assemblies, and high-value miniature cables, sold under brands including OPTRA, COP'R, Microwires and Gregoire & Barilleau. The group serves demanding regulated sectors, telecommunications, defense, aerospace, nuclear, rail, medical, automotive and energy among them, and has supplied specialized programs such as the French army's Scorpion vehicle initiative. According to disclosures around its rebranding, Agilink employs roughly 210 people and generates annual revenue approaching EUR 30 million across four sites at Bois-Colombes, Carentan-les-Marais, Ivry-la-Bataille and Tunis.

Ownership journey

Agilink traces its origins to SIPD, a maker of telephone wires and cables founded in 1923 in Pantin, in the Ile-de-France region, which expanded through acquisitions including Gregoire & Barilleau from the Prysmian group in 1996 and a Nexans cord operation in Ivry-la-Bataille in 2005. In December 2019 IRD Invest backed the group through a leveraged buyout via its Nord Croissance fund, supporting a company then reporting revenue in the EUR 20 million to EUR 50 million range. IRD Invest remains an active investor and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded. The Nord Croissance vehicle, created in 1991, is a long-term capital investor within IRD Invest's platform focused on small and mid-sized industrial companies.

Under PE ownership

The 2019 investment underpinned a phase of consolidation and repositioning for the group. That same year it acquired Industrifil, adding wires and high-added-value miniature cables aimed at aeronautics and robotics applications. In September 2021 the group retired the historic SIPD name and unified its four sites under the single Agilink Group brand, revealed simultaneously across all locations, under a management team led by Marc Chambon, Bruno Lemonnier and Michael Poignand. Following these steps the group has stabilized at around 210 employees and revenue approaching EUR 30 million, presenting itself as an integrated interconnection specialist spanning telecommunications, defense, aerospace and other regulated end markets.
