About Access Fertility
Access Fertility is a United Kingdom fertility financing company that partners with private IVF clinics to sell fixed-price, multi-cycle treatment packages and refund programmes rather than operating clinics itself. Its core products include an IVF Refund Programme offering up to a 100 percent refund if a patient does not have a baby, a discounted Multi-Cycle Programme, an Unlimited Programme covering as many cycles as needed over two years, and a Donor Egg Programme, alongside 0 percent interest financing of up to 12,000 pounds. The company positions itself as the first, largest and most established provider of IVF refund programmes in the UK, distributing through a network of partner clinics rather than treating patients directly. According to its own disclosures, its programmes have contributed to more than 13,000 baby births and it has refunded over 22 million pounds to patients whose treatment was unsuccessful.
Ownership journey
Access Fertility was founded in 2013 by Ash Carroll-Miller, who began by working from home and calling clinics to build partnerships around a US-style refund model for IVF. The business scaled into a network model, contracting with private fertility clinics across the UK and later with partner clinics in Spain, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland and Portugal. In 2019 Beechbrook Capital, investing through its Private Debt III fund, provided debt financing to the company, supplying credit to support its growth rather than taking equity ownership. That facility positioned Beechbrook as a lender to the business, with Carroll-Miller and management continuing to run the company. No exit or secondary transaction tied to the debt financing has been recorded in public sources.
Under PE ownership
The debt financing supported Access Fertility as it broadened both its product range and its geographic reach beyond a single UK refund product. The company extended its programmes to cover donor-egg treatment and an Unlimited option running over two years, and added a 0 percent interest finance route of up to 12,000 pounds to widen affordability. It also expanded its clinic partnerships from the UK into continental Europe, adding partner clinics in Spain, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland and Portugal. On its own figures the cumulative scale has grown to more than 13,000 births supported and over 22 million pounds refunded to unsuccessful patients, up from roughly 12,000 births and nearly 20 million pounds refunded reported at an earlier stage. The business remains a lean operation, reporting a headcount of around 14 employees.
