About SwanCap Partners

SwanCap, operating through SwanCap Partners GmbH and SwanCap Investment Management, is an independent private markets investment manager established in 2013 as a spin-out, with an investment track record dating to 2000. It is headquartered in Munich, Germany, with additional offices in New York, Milan and Luxembourg, and a team of more than 25 professionals. SwanCap manages more than €5 billion in assets under management as of December 2024 across its fund families and managed accounts, having deployed more than €8 billion into private equity since inception. Its commingled fund vehicles run from Swan I through Swan VI, six flagship fund vehicles, alongside customised mandates.

Investment thesis

SwanCap is a private equity investment manager pursuing fund-of-funds, co-investment and secondaries strategies rather than direct buyout sponsorship. It deploys capital across three strategies: primary fund commitments, direct co-investments and direct secondaries, plus customised solutions. Geographic focus is Europe and North America, targeting the mid-market to large-cap segment, and it is sector-agnostic. Its limited partner base is institutional investors and large family offices across Europe, North America and Asia. The value-creation lever is manager selection, disciplined co-investment underwriting alongside top-tier general partners, and secondary-market sourcing, leveraging more than 300 primary fund relationships and a deep co-investment and direct-secondaries history.

Recent activity

As a fund-of-funds and co-investment manager, SwanCap activity is concentrated at the fund level rather than direct company deals. Recent fund activity includes the close of Swan VI, its second dedicated co-investment fund, above its €300 million target in 2024. Direct company-level investments and exits are made via underlying co-investments and are not individually disclosed as SwanCap deals. The platform continues to deploy across primary commitments, co-investments and secondaries in Europe and North America. Detailed buyer names and multiple data available on Pro at €29/month.
