About One Equity Partners Europe
One Equity Partners is a global middle-market private equity firm with approximately $13 billion of assets under management as of December 2024 (~$16 billion post-Fund IX close September 2025), headquartered in New York with the European office in Frankfurt, Germany. The firm was founded in 2001 as the private equity arm of JPMorgan before spinning out independently in 2015 (post-Bank One merger origin 2004, Lexington Partners and AlpInvest backed transition). The firm operates as a partner-owned independent PE platform.
Investment thesis
One Equity Partners deploys capital through nine flagship funds (OEP VI 2015 $1.65 billion through Fund IX 2025 $3.25 billion), targeting transformational platform-building combinations in middle-market and thematic carve-outs and corporate divestitures. The strategy emphasises combinations rather than traditional LBO leverage. Sector focus spans industrials, healthcare, technology, business services and specialty chemicals and materials. Geographic deployment is North America and Western Europe with the Frankfurt and Amsterdam offices covering DACH, Benelux and Nordics.
