About BainCapital Private Equity

Bain Capital Private Equity is the private equity arm of Bain Capital, one of the world's largest alternative asset managers with approximately $185 billion of firm-wide assets under management as of December 2024 (approaching $225 billion by end of 2025, $68 billion across the PE platform). The firm was founded in 1984 as a spin-off from Bain & Company consulting, and operates from a Boston headquarters with European HQ split between London and Munich (Maximilianstrasse 11), plus offices in Dublin, Lisbon, Luxembourg and Madrid. Bain Capital remains an unlisted private partnership.

Investment thesis

Bain Capital Private Equity deploys capital through approximately 30 plus active funds spanning the global Buyout flagship (Fund XIV closed $14 billion), Bain Capital Europe (Fund VI closed €6 billion in 2023), Bain Capital Asia, Tech Opportunities, Life Sciences and Special Situations strategies. Sector focus spans healthcare, technology, industrials, financial services and insurance, consumer and retail and life sciences, with the consulting-DNA cross-platform collaboration model integrating deep vertical expertise across PE, credit, real assets, growth and insurance verticals. Bain Capital is the only mega-PE platform with industrial-strength insurance investing capability.

Recent realised exits include insurance (UK, 2025), healthcare (2025), industrials (2024) and consumer (2024). Recent acquisitions include Jensten Group (UK insurance, 2025), Frontline Road Safety (industrial, 2025) and the Envision Healthcare restructure (2024).
