Astorius is a Hamburg private equity fund-of-funds with approximately €600 million of client assets as of December 2024, headquartered in Hamburg. The firm was founded in 2012 to give German private investors access to private equity after the AIFM Directive regulatory changes, and was among the first PE providers registered by BaFin in late 2013. Astorius is partner- and employee-owned, with partners and employees holding approximately €14 million of personal capital in their own funds.
Astorius deploys capital through approximately 10 fund-of-funds programmes (the ACF series through ACF XII Europa launched November 2025, with Fund VIII the latest closed primary fund at 2022 vintage), targeting fund-of-funds investing focused on small- and mid-cap buyout and growth equity managers, with a multi-stage manager selection requiring unanimous Investment Committee approval. Sector deployment is sector-agnostic via underlying mid-market buyout and growth funds spanning industrials, technology, business services, healthcare and consumer. Geographic deployment is European mid-market core plus US mid-market since 2019 via the Twin Bridge Capital Partners partnership. The platform combines PE portfolio management with equity-analyst-style company diligence.
As a fund-of-funds platform, realisations occur within underlying funds and are not disclosed at the fund-of-funds level. Recent acquisitions include new top target fund commitments under ACF XII (Europa) with the first two underlying funds connected (2025). The platform continues active deployment across the European and US mid-market fund-of-funds mandate. Detailed buyer names and multiple data available on Pro at €49/month.
