Fund
Fund · A pooled investment vehicle managed by a GP that invests in portfolio companies on behalf of LPs. PE funds typically have a 10-year lifespan with possible extensions.
Example
A PE manager raises a new vehicle named Fund VI with a €1.5B target. The fund will invest in 12 to 15 European mid-market buyouts over five years, with a 10-year fund life and optional one to two-year extensions.
