Drawdown
Drawdown · A capital call made by the GP to LPs, requesting that committed capital be transferred to the fund for investment. Drawdowns occur as the fund deploys capital into portfolio companies.
Example
Three years into a fund's life, the GP issues a capital call to LPs requesting 8% of their committed capital to fund a new acquisition. Each LP transfers their share within ten business days, per the subscription agreement.
