PE Glossary
Co-Investment
Co-Investment · A direct investment made by an LP alongside a PE fund into a specific portfolio company. Co-investments typically carry reduced or no management fees and carry.
Example
A pension fund LP commits €50M to a PE fund's main vehicle. When the fund acquires a €500M target, the LP invests an additional €25M directly into that single deal alongside the fund, with no extra management fee or carry on the co-invest.
