About Snetor

Snetor is a Courbevoie-based international distributor and trader of plastic raw materials and chemicals, supplying polymers such as polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene and polystyrene alongside a broad chemicals range covering solvents, acids, glycols, surfactants and waxes. It serves industrial customers across more than 100 countries from a network of offices spanning Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, positioning itself as one of France's leading independent polymer and chemical merchants. According to disclosures around its capital opening, the group generated roughly EUR 966 million in consolidated revenue in 2017 with over 150 staff, and consolidated turnover subsequently passed EUR 1 billion across a footprint of around 19 offices. It has extended its offering toward recycled, biodegradable and bio-sourced materials to meet growing sustainability demand from industrial buyers.

Ownership journey

Snetor was founded in 1981 and is led by Emmanuel Aubourg, whose family has retained majority control of the business throughout its expansion into an international distribution group. To accelerate its growth abroad, the company opened its capital to minority investors Paluel-Marmont Capital and the family office Sofival, who invested alongside management while the founding family kept the majority stake. Both sponsors remain active shareholders, backing rather than controlling the company, and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded. The arrangement paired family stewardship with external minority capital earmarked to fund organic growth and acquisitions.

Under PE ownership

The minority capital was earmarked to accelerate international growth, both organic and through selective acquisitions, under a buy-and-build strategy. Snetor acquired 50 percent of Eixo Brasil, one of the main local polymer distributors, extending its reach into South America. In 2020 it agreed to take a 70 percent stake in the polymers distribution business of Italy's Tecnopol, whose 2019 revenue exceeded EUR 60 million, creating the Tecnopol Snetor group and a Tecnopol Snetor Iberica arm for the Spanish market. These moves widened the group's geographic footprint across Europe, the Americas and Africa and helped lift consolidated turnover beyond EUR 1 billion, while the founding family retained operational control.
