About Lemco Precision
Lemco Precision, operating as Lemco Precision SA, is a Swiss manufacturer of high-precision electrical contacts, small in diameter and complex in shape, used to carry data and current inside demanding electronic equipment. Founded in 1965 and based in the French-speaking Valais region of Switzerland, the company designs and machines standard, custom and miniature contacts for commercial aviation, aerospace and defence, telecommunications, transportation, medical, test and measurement, fiber optics and industrial applications. It supplies leading connector manufacturers in North America and Europe through a co-design model, running roughly 500 high-precision machines across two Swiss production sites and producing more than 600 million contacts per year. At the time of its buyout the business employed about 235 people and generated close to CHF 56 million of revenue in 2019, positioning it as a specialist supplier to markets driven by rising electronics density and data traffic.
Ownership journey
Lemco Precision was founded in 1965 and built more than five decades of expertise in contact machining under long-standing CEO Andre Rezzonico. In a transaction signed in 2019 and completed in January 2020, AFINUM Management acquired an indirect majority stake in the group, the holding company Swiss Interconnect Holding SA, through its AFINUM VIII buyout fund (Afinum Achte Beteiligungsgesellschaft), marking the fund's eighth platform investment and AFINUM's seventh deal in Switzerland. Rezzonico rolled over as a minority shareholder and remained in the business alongside the sponsor. AFINUM, a mid-market investor focused on German-speaking Europe, remains the current equity owner and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.
Under PE ownership
The 2019 to 2020 buyout was structured as a growth partnership between AFINUM and the incumbent management, with capital and support earmarked for scaling the platform rather than a change of operating leadership. The stated plan centred on strengthening the international business, broadening the product range toward small diameter contacts, and improving manufacturing efficiency across the Swiss sites and wider operations. Under the investment the company has continued to lean on its co-design relationships with major connector makers in North America and Europe, targeting sectors where growing electronics content and data traffic expand demand for miniature, high-reliability contacts. Per company disclosures it now operates roughly 500 machines and produces more than 600 million contacts annually, consistent with the expansion agenda set at entry.
