About Hygie

Hygie, operating as Hygie Group, is a Luxembourg-based private healthcare provider whose network delivers dental and coordinated medical care, principally through its Hygie Dentaire brand of multidisciplinary dental centres offering general dentistry, specialist practice and daily emergency access from 9am to 10pm, seven days a week. The group runs four dental centres in Luxembourg, in Hollerich, Strassen, Esch-sur-Alzette and Differdange, and Axio has also described the platform as including an imaging centre and a medical centre. It positions itself as a recognised actor in the Luxembourg health system, structuring coherent patient pathways in partnership with general practitioners and hospitals. According to its own disclosures, more than 70 employees and healthcare professionals work across its facilities, treating over 15,000 patients a year.

Ownership journey

Hygie was founded in Luxembourg in 2014 with the opening of an initial dental centre, and built out a network of dental surgeries and health centres over the following years. In February 2023 Axio Capital backed the group through a development capital investment made via its Axio Croissance growth strategy, consolidating the owners' equity to accelerate expansion in Luxembourg and the opening of new centres. At the time of the transaction the business generated revenue of around EUR 5 million. Axio remains an active shareholder and Hygie is still listed among its current investments; no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.

Under PE ownership

The 2023 capital was earmarked for accelerating Hygie's rollout of new centres across Luxembourg, and since the investment the group has continued to widen its footprint. It opened a new Hygie Dentaire centre in Differdange, which began operating on 17 January 2024, extending the network to four dental centres. Headcount has grown alongside the expansion, with the group reporting more than 70, and subsequently more than 80, employees and healthcare professionals, while annual patient volumes have held above 15,000. The build-out has reinforced the group's positioning as a multidisciplinary private healthcare platform coordinating dental and medical care.
