About Groupe Medimex

Groupe Medimex is a Lyon-based healthcare group that distributes, installs and maintains rehabilitation and functional-evaluation medical devices for physical medicine and rehabilitation, sold to hospitals, private rehabilitation and physiotherapy centres, sports-medicine practices and research units in France and internationally. Its catalogue spans isokinetic testing systems, robotic rehabilitation and exoskeletons, whole-body cryotherapy, motion analysis, muscle strengthening and cardiovascular training equipment, and it also provides maintenance and reconditioning services alongside distribution. Operating for more than 35 years, the group brings together the Medimex, Athlex and Eden Concept brands and reports turnover of around EUR 30 million, having roughly doubled revenue over the preceding three to four years. It is headquartered in Sainte-Foy-les-Lyon and positions itself as a French reference in scientifically validated evaluation, rehabilitation and performance solutions.

Ownership journey

Medimex was founded in 1989 and was acquired in 2006 by Eric Besson, who built it into a multi-brand group spanning Medimex, Athlex and Eden Concept, with international operations extending to Morocco through Medathlex. In December 2025 the group reorganised its ownership through an owner buy-out, and the transaction was publicly confirmed in January 2026, when Impact Partners took a minority stake through its impact strategy alongside Eric Besson and the management team, who remain in control of the business. The deal was structured with the support of banking partners providing financing to the group. Impact Partners is an active minority shareholder and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.

Under PE ownership

The 2026 capital opening was framed as a structuring step to fund a new phase of development while preserving the group's identity and its stated mission of improving patient autonomy and recovery. Management set out a dual growth agenda: organic expansion across hospital, private-practice and sports-health channels, and external growth through acquisitions of complementary businesses. The group also intends to accelerate internationally, building on its existing Moroccan operations under the Medathlex banner and drawing on Impact Partners' European network. As the investment closed only at the turn of 2026, operating outcomes under the new backer are not yet documented, though the transaction consolidated the Medimex, Athlex and Eden Concept brands under a shared growth plan.
