About Groupe Mas Miquel
Groupe Mas Miquel is a French charcuterie and cured-meats producer rooted in the Cantal region of Auvergne, specialising in terroir food products that span salaisons, canned and preserved specialities, fresh charcuterie and regional dishes such as aligot, pounti and stuffed cabbage. The group brings together long-standing artisanal houses, among them Mas at Le Rouget in Cantal and Etablissement Miquel at Bouillac in Aveyron, and sources its pork and other inputs from breeders and cooperatives across the Massif Central. It reaches consumers through its own network of boutiques across the southern Massif Central and Paris as well as through wholesale and mail-order channels. The group employs on the order of 160 people across its production sites and retail outlets, positioning itself on authenticity and traditional Auvergnat recipes rather than volume.
Ownership journey
The Mas business traces its roots to the 1930s, when the house was established at Le Rouget in Cantal and grew into a name known across France for its Auvergnat charcuterie, while its Aveyron arm, Etablissement Miquel at Bouillac, dates to 1981. In 2021 Siparex invested in Groupe Mas Miquel through Siparex Territoires, the platform that manages the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes regional sovereign fund launched in March 2021. The holding was among the first five investments made by that fund, a portfolio that spanned agri-food, industry, services, tourism and retail across the region. Siparex Territoires backs regional small and mid-sized companies with a mix of equity and quasi-equity to support their growth ambitions. Siparex remains an active shareholder, and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.
Under PE ownership
The 2021 investment was framed to support the group's growth ambitions and the consolidation of its regional charcuterie houses under a single platform. Mas, the group's largest operating company, lifted revenue from roughly EUR 11.6 million in 2020 to about EUR 12.7 million in 2021 as the group continued to develop its brands and distribution. Backed by Siparex's regional capital, the group has worked to broaden its retail footprint and product range across the Massif Central and beyond while retaining its artisanal, terroir-driven positioning. The business remains a current portfolio company of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes sovereign fund managed by Siparex, with the sponsor still holding its stake.
