About Futur-A Group
Futur-A Group is an Italian buy-and-build platform in the research-and-development engineering segment for manufacturing, bringing together specialist firms across mechanical design, electrical and electronic engineering, and industrial software, PLC programming and robotics. It serves end-markets that include industrial machinery, robotics, luxury automotive, aerospace, defence and healthcare. At launch the platform combined two founding businesses: People Design of Bologna, focused on R&D consulting and mechanical design for industrial plants and machinery, and ManganoRobot of Turin, specialised in software and PLC programming and robotics for automation systems. Koinos Capital frames the opportunity as a fragmented national market worth around EUR 6 billion, with more than 350 active operators, most below EUR 10 million in revenue, and no single centre of excellence spanning multiple sectors.
Ownership journey
Futur-A Group was created in June 2025 by Koinos Capital SGR, the Milan-based asset manager, which launched the platform through its Koinos Uno fund to consolidate the fragmented Italian R&D engineering market. In the founding transaction, completed on 30 June 2025, Koinos Uno acquired full control of People Design and ManganoRobot and combined them under the newly formed holding. The entrepreneurs behind the two companies, Denis Luci and Daniele Mangano, retained their operating roles and reinvested as co-investors alongside the fund. Koinos Uno remains the active controlling shareholder, and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.
Under PE ownership
The investment established Futur-A Group as a dedicated buy-and-build vehicle, with Koinos installing a group leadership team, Christian Solari as chief executive and Stefano Bordogna as chief financial officer, to steer consolidation. The stated plan is to add further specialist engineering firms to the platform and reach EUR 100 million in revenue within four to five years, against a national market forecast to grow around 6 percent annually. Since launch the group has operated across design, mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering, and industrial software and PLC programming, positioning itself as a multi-sector benchmark for R&D engineering applied to manufacturing. As a 2025 vintage platform, its early phase centres on integrating the two founding businesses and building the pipeline of additional add-ons flagged at launch.
