About Eagle Fire
Eagle Fire is a Richmond, Virginia based fire protection and life safety services company that provides recurring inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, retrofit and installation of fire sprinkler, fire alarm, special hazard suppression and fire extinguisher systems. It focuses on regulatory-driven, non-discretionary work for high-complexity end markets including data centers, healthcare, education, government and industrial facilities, positioning itself as a mission-critical service provider rather than a discretionary contractor. The company serves more than 4,500 customers annually from 22 offices across seven southeastern U.S. states, namely Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. Its team holds certifications from bodies such as NFPA, NICET, IMSA and UL, reflecting the compliance-heavy nature of the work.
Ownership journey
Eagle Fire was founded in 1987 in Richmond, Virginia and built out a network of branch offices serving industrial, commercial and government customers across the Southeast. On 16 July 2025 Cobepa, an independent privately held investment company with offices in New York and Brussels, closed its acquisition of Eagle Fire in partnership with the existing management team led by President and Chief Executive Raymond Clarke, who joined the company in 2006. Cobepa is the named equity sponsor backing the business, which it has held as an active investment since 2025 with no exit or secondary transaction recorded. The stated aim of the transaction was to expand the company's geographic reach and broaden its service capabilities using Cobepa's capital and resources.
Under PE ownership
Under Cobepa's ownership Eagle Fire has continued its buy-and-build strategy, having completed roughly a dozen acquisitions over its history. In January 2026 it acquired Harris Security Systems, an Ozark, Alabama provider of monitoring, video surveillance, access control and fire detection with more than 25 years of operation, marking its first bolt-on since the Cobepa partnership and deepening its footprint in south Alabama. The deal extended Eagle Fire's capabilities beyond fire protection into adjacent security and life safety services while reinforcing its 22-office, seven-state platform. Management has framed these steps as part of a continued growth agenda focused on widening both geographic coverage and the range of regulatory-driven services offered to existing and prospective customers.
