Ownership journey

Digital Vision Group was created in 2021 as a buy-and-build platform combining two established German technology firms, Stranet AG, founded in 1995 in Hohenlockstedt, and Smaser AG, founded in 2017 in Darmstadt. The combination was backed by Auctus Capital Partners through its Auctus V fund, which framed the new group as a nucleus in IoT, Industry X and multi-cloud expertise. The two businesses were led into the combined structure by their respective chief executives, Dr. Joerg Rieckmann of Stranet and Steffen Zaulauf of Smaser. Auctus V is recorded as an active shareholder and the holding remains listed among the sponsor's current portfolio; no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.

Under PE ownership

Since the 2021 investment, Auctus has pursued an explicit buy-and-build approach for the platform, with the founding merger of Stranet and Smaser intended as the base for further consolidation of specialist IT firms. The stated aim was to build an end-to-end provider able to address the complex requirements of functioning cloud and IoT services flexibly and comprehensively for medium-sized and large customers. Under the ownership the group has consolidated consulting, development and managed-services capabilities under a single brand while continuing to develop proprietary solutions, including its Healthcare Cloud offering and the TRIP enterprise search product. Commercially it has leaned into regulated end-markets such as healthcare, where it acts as a white-label operator of critical systems for major institutions.
