About Copytrend

Copytrend Group is a Bern-based document services company that combines digital printing, plotting, scanning, archiving and web-to-print with broader document management and business process outsourcing for corporate, marketing and industrial clients across Switzerland. Positioned as one of the leading Swiss providers of advanced physical and digital document services, it serves customers in sectors including pharmaceuticals, luxury goods, construction and general industry. By the time of its 2018 change of ownership it operated 32 sites across the German and French speaking regions of Switzerland with roughly 150 staff, making it the country's largest independent operator in reprographics and document services.

Ownership journey

Copytrend traces its origins to a family-owned Swiss reprographics business with roughly three decades of history by 2014, when it ran 11 branches across the German and French speaking parts of Switzerland. In 2014 AFINUM Management acquired the group through its AFINUM VII Buyout Fund, backing a specialised provider of document management and scanning services alongside the existing management team. AFINUM held the investment for about four years before exiting in 2018 via a secondary transaction.

Under PE ownership

Under AFINUM's ownership Copytrend pursued an intensive buy-and-build strategy, completing around ten add-on acquisitions to consolidate the fragmented Swiss reprographic market. The company expanded from 11 branches to 32 sites nationwide and grew its workforce to approximately 150 employees, while broadening its offering from traditional scanning and printing into digital document management, archiving and web-to-print. This consolidation established Copytrend as the leading Swiss provider of advanced physical and digital document services by the time of the 2018 exit.
